Farewell To Our Legendary Ladies
Farewell To Our Legendary Ladies

Dear Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Alumni:

I want to personally thank you for creating a magical day for our entire organization.

As you might imagine, taking on the creation and management of 276 individual performers can be quite overwhelming for the DCC Staff.

At Saturday's rehearsal I was brought to tears to see so many friendships reunited and old dance steps remembered. As I roamed around the field, I chuckled as you complained about sore muscles, discussed babies and Botox, and laughed about forgotten routines.

This whole project has been worth every minute of preparations hearing you all share heartwarming memories.

Over the past 37 years every one of you has poured blood, sweat, and tears in to this turf at Texas Stadium. Each one of you contributed to the tradition and excellence that we all celebrate today.

Through the years, our lives have changed, evolved, and yes, even aged, with real life. Marriage, kids, divorce, disease, even disaster. Many of us have had to rely on inner strength, courage, and commitment that we learned from being a D.C.C.

Thank you to Suzanne Mitchell, Tex Schramm, Dee Brock, Texie Waterman, Shannon Werthmann, and Debbie Bond for creating something so special to so many people. As we say farewell, take a look around Texas Stadium where your dreams began and your life changed.

Thank you all for being bold enough to dance today... and beautiful in continuing the tradition of character and community service. When you take the field today, ENJOY THE MOMENT AND THE MAGIC! Today is not about perfection, it's about the people.

Have fun... I know I have,

Shake your Pom Poms!!!

Kelli McGonagill Finglass, Director
